It seems easy to get a speeding ticket these days. With all of the distractions in your car (radio, children, cell phone), you don’t even realize you’re speeding until you see a blue light in your rear view mirror. Oftentimes, the officer will suggest you simply pay the fine or come to Court and he will reduce it. Either scenario will result in significantly higher insurance premiums. Paying the fine is the same as pleading guilty to the charge. In addition, it may be very inconvenient to miss time from work or leave your home and take your children to Court. We can solve all of these problems.
First, we carefully review the particular facts of your case, in person or over the phone, whichever you prefer. We then mail or email you a Retainer Agreement for your signature. You can pay by credit card or personal check. We do not insult our clients by asking for a “money order.” We then request a jury trial which postpones your Court date, usually for several months. Just before trial, we negotiate on your behalf with the charging officer. Once we have a final proposal from the officer, we discuss your options, and then you decide what you want to do. In most cases, we are able to negotiate a “no points” solution that protects your driving record. Of course, you may have to pay additional fines, but your insurance rates remain the same. If you do not want to accept a plea, we always remain ready to try your case before a jury of your peers.
Even though we offer a state-wide practice, we focus primarily in Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, Lake Wylie, Clover, York, McConnells, Lancaster, and Chester. We are extremely competitive on our rates. We want your business. Call us today and let us take care of your traffic ticket in York, Lancaster, and Chester counties.
