Fatal Lexington Motorcycle Crash-Columbia Car Wreck Attorneys

There was a deadly motorcycle accident Saturday morning on Edmund Highway in Lexington, South Carolina, near Columbia.

The 45 year old motorcycle rider died when he ran into the rear of a pick-up truck.   Current police reports do not show if any driver was ticketed, but rear-end collisions rarely result in tickets for the person rear-ended.

The biker died at the Lexington scene from head and body trauma.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lexington County Coroner’s office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Police Car Chase Ends With Crash–SC Accident Attorneys

A police chase ensued Wednesday afternoon after three enforcemenet agencies joined together to chased the unnamed individual. The chase ended with a collission in Columbia Park that afternoon.

The facts surrounding the case are as follows: an officer patrolling a neighborhood in connection with a pattern of recent car break-ins, attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee when the suspect sped away.  It was during the chase that the suspect sideswiped another vehicle near Ginny Lane and US 378.

The car that was hit during the crash was damaged, but fortunately, no one was in the car at the time of the collision.  After crashing into the car, the suspect took off.

Police car chases are becoming more common and, with increasing speeds and recklessness, more dangerous to the public. Many police departments have adopted new rules for when their officers are permitted to continue chase and when they must break off pursuit. The risks of causing accidents like the one in this case are too great. In this instance, the car was simply parked. But who knows what could have happened if a family had been sitting in the vehicle.

Councilman Named in Wrongful Death Lawsuit For Four-Car Crash–SC Accident Attorneys

A SC Councilman has been named in a wrongful death lawsuit surrounding a 201o ca accident that killed a 70-year-old woman.

The woman driver was struck by four vehicles on November 4, 2010.  The driver of the first car that collided with the woman’s vehicle has pleaded guilty for driving under the influence.  The Councilman’s vehicle was the second car to hit; however, he argues that he tried to swerve and is not responsible for the woman’s death.  This argument is further echoed by the Councilman’s attorney.

According to the Coroner, it was impossible to determine which of the four vehicles were responsible for the woman’s fatal injuries.

The Councilman is being sued for over $5 million.

Airplane Pilot Wrecks Airport’s Car-SC Accident Attorneys

An airplane pilot wrecked not his plane, but an airport car in Anderson, South Carolina last week in an accident involving a tractor-trailer.  Not an airline pilot, he apparently was flying a private jet.

The car belonged to the Anderson County Regional Airport and existed for the use of individuals, like this airplane pilot, who fly into the airport.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol has not provided much information about the accident.

The collision happened on S.C. 28 Bypass near the Sonic Drive-In in Anderson.  The pilot hit the rear of a tractor-trailer truck, which had stopped due to a fender-bender in front of it.  There is no indication that the truck driver was injured in the accident.  Neither were the pilot nor his two children, who were sitting in the back seat.  The pilot’s wife, sitting in the passenger seat, required an X-ray to disprove injury.

The wreck will not deprive the airport of a car.  A second car will be available, and insurance will replace the wrecked auto soon.

Crushed to Death at Work- Rock Hill Accident Attorney

Last Saturday was grim when a  Chester County man was crushed to death while on the job. Isiah McCrorey, age 51, was in charge of operating the cranes for Palmetto Recycling in Rock Hill.

His daughter, Nydia Wherry, is confused by the accident states that her father ” knew those cranes, he’d been working with cranes and working construction for over 20 years,” when the accident occurred; leaving the family baffled and full of questions. Specifically, McCrorey had been working this particular crane at Rock Hill’s Palmetto Recycling for over 2 years.

According to the Rock Hill police report, McCrorey was operating the crane last Saturday when he noticed something was in the way of the crane. He subsequently locked the crane and got out of the equipment in order to move something out-of-the-way. It was at that moment that the one-ton storage container that the crane was holding fell atop McCrorey. Co-workers ran to his rescue and tried to lift the container off of McCrorey as they called 911.

Currently, OSHA is investigating the accident to see if Palmetto Recycling could have done something different to prevent the accident.McCrorey’s daughter Wherry states that her family is not pointing fingers to place blame, however they have obtained counsel to look into the incident.

The victim has left behind his wife of 28 years, along with children and grandchildren to bear the grief.
