Homicide investigators in Lexington County, South Carolina report that they have charged a suspect with murder after discovering the body of a man, who had disappeared earlier in the month. He was buried in defendant’s back yard. A 26-year-old man is being charged with murder and financial fraud among other crimes.
The mother of the missing person told deputies that the man went missing on February 25, 2013. They report that the man was killed that day by a stab to the eye and neck, in addition to a fractured skull.
The man suspected of the murder allegedly took the victims car apart, and buried the body in the back yard. Another man, 40-year-old West Columbia man, was charged with accessory after the fact, manufacturing methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. The alleged murderer is also being charged with financial fraud for selling the victim’s automobile parts.
This is a terrible result to a disastrous situation. Taking someone’s life is the worst thing a person can do criminally. A Rock Hill resident was apprehended by police when to woman was caught stealing almost 50 separate pieces of jewelry from the Rock Hill Galleria.
According to a police report, the woman went to the Belk Store at the Rock Hill Galleria on Friday night with a pillow case and her purse in hand.
The woman took price tags off several pieces of jewelry and put them in the pillow case, which was concealed by a jacket she was wearing.When the woman attempted to leave the store, a security guard stopped her and confiscated around $2,000 worth of jewelry she had stolen.
After apprehending the suspect, authorities charged her with shoplifting.
Getting charged with shoplifting in the state of South Carolina is a very serious crime. Furthermore if one has purposefully concealed the items in question, the prosecution may use evidence against the defendant to presume shoplifting has occurred.
According to South Carolina Statutes, Sections 16-13-110 defines “concealment” in terms of shoplifting means “to hide merchandise on the person or among the belongings of a person so that, although there may be some notice of its presence, it is not visible through ordinary observation.” S.C. Stat. 16-13-110(2006).
Moreover, section 16-13-120 allows for the state to draw a presumptions from concealment of unpurchased goods, stating in pertinent part that ” it is permissible to infer that any person wilfully concealing unpurchased goods or merchandise of any store or other mercantile establishment either on the premises or outside the premises of the store has concealed the article with the intention of converting it to his own use without paying the purchase price thereof” within the meaning of the concealment definition provided above.S.C. Stat. 16-13-120(2006)

A 50-year-old Rock Hill woman has been apprehended by authorities on site at a cemetary last Monday, where she was caught inhaling fumes from a computer duster spray can.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the Forest Hills Cemetery on Old York Road. A witness had called in claiming a woman was parked in a silver colored SUV in the cemetery and that she was holding some type of can.
Officers approached the car and the woman was passed out behind the wheel. When officers awoke the woman, police stated her eyes were glassy, according to a report. Two cans were taken as evidence from the scene.
The woman was released Monday on a $500 bond and is being charged with inhaling aromatic hydrocarbons.

The Lancaster County, South Carolina Drug Task Force discovered guns, crack cocaine, marijuana and surveillance equipment early Wednesday morning. Two men were arrested and charged with distribution of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack, the report states.
One of the men was also charged with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony. Both of these men have been arrested before on drug charges, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff, Barry Faile.

Two Kershaw, South Carolina men led Lancaster Police on a chase and ended up with heroin charges filed against them. Deputies went to Small’s Food Center on North Matson Street in response to a call about a suspicious man ingressing and egressing from the store and hanging around the parking lot. When deputies walked up to the truck, the man who was driving sped away. The report states that deputies immediately knew the man’s drivers license was suspended.
The truck sped into the woods where it hit several trees. One of the men exited the vehicle, and deputies began a foot pursuit. When the deputies yelled for the man to stop, he exclaimed “I can’t,” and just kept running. The man was eventually brought down by the taser the deputies had, and syringes and a small bag of heroin were found. Both men were charged with possession of heroin; one of the men was charged with resisting arrest.
