A man from Rock Hill, SC found himself hospitalized after he engaged in an altercation with an arresting officer.
According to the reports, the 48-year-old man fought the officer until he ultimately kicked the officer in the face, following an arguement with family members. Apparently the man’s 32-year-old nephew is the one who contacted the police around 11:30 a.m., shortly after the ruccus started.
The nephew stated that his uncle was asked to leave the family home due to his intense intoxication issues, coupled with his argumentative behavior. Thereafter, a fight broke out, forcing the nephew to call the police.
When the police arrived, the uncle was unable to remain balanced on his own two feet, smelled of alcohol, and was slurring his speech. The police also noted that the uncle had his suitcase packed, but was unable to pick it up without falling over.
The police attempted to call the uncle a taxi, but as he left the house, he began to scream and shout profanities at the officers and the taxi driver upon arrival. The cops then placed the uncle under arrest for disturbing the peace.
As the officers tried to place the uncle in his cop car, the uncle kicked until he eventually hit one of the officers in the face with his shoe.
Apparently, even after the uncle was pulled out of the patrol car due to his stunt, he continued to kick at the officers. During the course of the uncle struggling, the fell backwards, hitting his head on the pavement, and suffering a few minor injuries on his elbow.
The man was taken first to the hospital for an assessment, but was later discharged. He was subsequently taken to jail for his reckless behavior.
He was subsequently charged with third-degree assault and battery as well as a public disorderly conduct charge. He was in jail until Thursday, when he was released on a $1,260 bond.

Deputies are charging a man with shoplifting after he allegedly stole beef jerky from a Fort Mill convenience store after stumbling through the store while drunk, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.
The store clerk at the Times Turnaround reported the man was “extremely intoxicated” and stole several beef jerky sticks. Deputies reviewed the store surveillance video which showed the man “enter the store and stumble around,” then grab beef jerky and stuff his pockets. In an attempt to hide the stolen jerky, the man tried to pull his shirt over his pockets, but the shirt was stuck in the same pocket which knocked out the jerky. The man then moved to another display of jerky, grabbed more, and left the store without paying. Officers planned to pursue enhanced shoplifting charges, the report states.

The man was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana, jail records showed Saturday. The man’s criminal record according to State Law Enforcement Division records includes conviction for assault, domestic violence, and escape from prison.

A Rock Hill woman was arrested this weekend and charged civilly with property damage, and criminally with public disorderly conduct for ripping an antenna off of a cab, and subsequently beating the car with it. This incident was reported early Saturday morning.
The report was filed by the 52-year-old cab driver, who picked up the Defendant off of W. White Street sometime shortly after midnight.
For whatever reason, the woman went ballistic, jumped out of the cab, ripped off the antenna, and began to beat the car with it. All the cab driver knows is that they were headed in the direction of the victim’s home when her temper got the best of her. Moreover, the “cab attack” damaged over $100 of the vehicle.
The 27-year-old is currently awaiting her bond of $6,000 for her weekend behavior. Fortunately for the cab driver, he suffered no personal injury.
In the case at hand, the cab driver was lucky to escape the cab attack without a scratch on him. However, this is rarely the case. Cab drivers are attacked more often than you may think. Many criminals “hi-jack” the cab and commit a crime, thinking they will be undetected in a car that is not their own. If the woman had hit the cab driver instead of the vehicle, the charges would be much more serious.
