Charlotte Neighbors Speak Out About Speeding

Neighbors in the Charlotte Yorkmont neighborhood are speaking out about drivers that speed way too fast down Nations Ford Road, especially just south of Tryon Street.

Neighbors complain that the stretch of Nations Ford Road, south of Tryon Street is used as a popular short cut for drivers heading toward Tyvola Road.

According to authorities, the people have good reason to reason to worry since the nearby corner of Nations Ford and South Tryon is one of the most dangerous intersections in Charlotte.  Furthermore, a local newstation that monitored the stretch of road reported many drivers going more than 15 mph over the speed limit.

Neighbors, especially those with children, hope that the increased news coverage will deter drivers from speeding.

Studies by the Charlotte Department of Transportation reveal that 33,000 cars driver by the intersection of Nations Ford and South Tryon each day and that there have been 44 crashes at that intersection between years 2008-2011.  Speeding only increases the chances of being in a crash.  If a serious accident happens to you or a loved one, call the  Accident Attorneys of Reeves, Aiken, and Hightower at 704-499-9000 or 877-374-5999 toll-free.  Our attorneys can assist you in finding the most successful path to recovery.
