The South Carolina Highway Patrol has recently released reports stating how dangerous the weather truly is for drivers on the thoroughfares.
Apparently, the Highway Patrol has reported that they have roughly 20 car accidents going on at all times. They range from extremely minor “fender benders,” to serious auto accidents that resulted in near death experiences.
They state that they can not say for certain exactly how many of the accidents are caused due to the weather, but they can state that their numbers are up and nothing has changed much aside from the massive amounts of rain.
The Department of Transportation has been put on notice as to the accidents, but short of controlling the speed limits and requesting drivers to slow down during inclement weather, there is nothing more to be done.
Take the proper precautions when driving in the rain, sleet, or snow. Do not speed and keep your focus on the road. Do not get distracted. For more information or help with a serious car accident, contact the law offices of Reeves, Aiken, and Hightower,LLP toll-free at 877-374-5999.
