A Charlotte woman is hospitalized after being shot in an apparent road rage shooting in north Charlotte Friday night.
According to police, five woman in a Cadillac Escalade were arguing with people in another vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on Gemway Drive, off Sunset road.
A 40-year-old woman passenger in the Escalade says she and her co-workers were heading to a friend’s home after a Christmas dinner at the senior citizen’s center where they work. The woman does not remember any words that were exchanged before shots were fired.
One shot hit a 44-year-old woman who was driving the Escalade, causing her to lose control of the SUV and crash, injuring the four women in the car. The driver was still hospitalized as of Saturday night, but the others had been treated and released.
Police continue the search for the other vehicle.
