A Lincolnton, NC woman was fired this past week from her job as a nurse for allegedly taking prescription medication from the hospital. Now, authorities with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
According to the Lincoln County, NC Sheriff, the Sheriff’s Office received a call on February 4th regarding a disobedient employee. The Sheriff did not release the name of the nurse but said she had been fired because it was believed she was stealing a certain prescription medication. The woman is apparently from Gaston County, NC, but the Sheriff said she has not been charged with any crimes yet, but charges would be pending the results of his investigation.
Also, Carolina HealthCare System is investigating the allegations and incident to determine more information. The Hospital in Lincoln said that it is fully cooperating with any investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and would assist them in any matter brought before them.

Authorities with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have taken a man into custody they say was involved in a home invasion.
According to a report, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Skyland Avenue a little before 1 a.m. Thursday. A man had called 911 and stated he witnessed a man removing a window screen on a neighbor’s home. When police arrived at the scene, the found a window shattered with a cinderblock next to the broken glass in the yard. Officers at the front door then observed someone walking inside the home.
Officers outside then called the homeowner of the residence who stated he was not at home at that time. The homeowner came home a short time after, but not before the officers found a man hiding behind his couch. The man was taken into custody and is being charged with breaking and entering, larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.

A Rock Hill, SC man has been apprehended by the police department not for his phone calls about a racist ‘fire pit’, but for having drugs on him at a later time.
According to a police report, the man who called authorities called them to state that a metal lid for a fire pit was racist. The man thought the fire pit lid, according to him, was a mud pile with the skeleton of a black person outlined around the pile.
The officers suspected the man had been drinking after smelling his breath. Officers also asked if the man had recently been smoking marijuana. The man said he had just smoked a blunt and granted officers consent to search him when asked. The officers found around 1.5 grams of marijuana on the man and arrested him on drug possession charges.

A local Rock Hill Walmart will be more careful in the future in hiring employees. Police say a cashier at a Rock Hill Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard has been accused of stealing items worth almost $3,000 from the store.
Authorities stated that a Walmart manager caught the employee putting the items into a bag and failing to scan them before she did. The manager caught the employee by browsing through old survelliance footage and said the conduct had gone on for around two months. When authorities arrested the woman, they searched her and found marijuana and a marijuana joint on her person.

Authorities in the York County Sheriff’s Office are charging three men with burglary who officers say broke into the residence of an elderly gentleman. The incident occurred at the 1500 block of South Anderson Road in Rock Hill around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night.
The elderly man said he was asleep when the burglars broke into his home and held him at gunpoint. The three men destroyed the inside of the elderly man’s home before taking his wallet with the petty amount of cash inside it.
Authorities spoke with the elderly man’s son who said this is the second time the elderly man has been robbed at his home in the past year. The man’s son said his father was also robbed in September as he was leaving his house.

Authorities in Stanly County, NC arrested a man and a woman they say were selling firearms the two had stolen.
According to a police report, officers were tipped off that the two were selling stolen weapons when an anonymous caller stated he had been sold stolen weapons in western Stanly County. The man and the woman were both arrested and were being held under a $10,000 bond.
Authorities are charging both the man and the woman with breaking and entering a residence and larceny of a firearm.
