Two-car crash in Charlotte involving stolen truckOne person is in critical condition after a two-car crash involving a stolen truck in Matthews early Wednesday morning.

According to Police, the 57-year-old driver was injured after his small white Mazda truck flipped after hitting a F-250 truck on Idlewild Road near Matthews Pineville Road on Wednesday morning around 4:30 a.m.

Emergency crews on the scene had to extricate the man from the truck after being trapped from the crash.

The driver of the second truck had stolen the F-250.  After the crash, he jumped from the vehicle and ran from the scene.

The truck was one of several that had been broken into at a Charlotte home.  Other stolen property was found in the truck as well.

Police and emergency crews were able to reopen Idlewild Road after clearing the scene around 7:30 a.m.
