Last year, a Clover woman was killed in an early morning accident after running a stop sign and subsequently running into a tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. According to the South Carolina Highway patrol report, the 31-year-old ran a stop sign and the intersection of Boyd Roads and Jim McCarter near the city limits of Clover and Lake Wylie.

Apparently, the woman’s identity was not immediately released, as she was a prominent member of Clover society, being the president of the York Rotary Club at one time, as well as a member of the Greater York Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene due to the impact of crash. No one else was riding and her car, and no other drivers were reported to of suffered any injuries.
