Rock Hill Man Wrecks Car Into Another Car And Then Into A Building

DUI Defense AttorneyA Rock Hill resident has just been arrested for slamming his car into a 66-year-old woman’s vehicle, and then right into a building, causing over $10,000 worth of damages to the building alone.

The Rock Hill Police Department reported that the 51-year-old defendant was extremely intoxicated at the time of incident. His BAC level was almost three times the legal limit at an astonishing 0.21.

Apparently the defendant was driving near East Main Street and Firetower Road around 3:00 p.m., when the defendant lost control of his black work van, and barrelled into an elderly woman’s car. The man then kept driving after impact, only to slam into The Resident Services Building on East Main.

The Resident Services building has serious damage, and the defendant’s van blew a tire during the collision.

He tried to leave the scene of the accident, when the police finally caught up with him. The defendant immediately exercised his right to refuse the field sobriety tests the officers attempted to administer, but then later blew a .021 in the breathalyzer at the station.

The legal limit in South Carolina is .08, nearly three times less then what the defendant was driving with. He even reported to the police that he had 12 beers at lunch, along with “a bunch of chicken wings.”

His has thus been charged with driving while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident. Moreover, he caused a total of $12,000 worth of damages by the time the day was over.

Tega Cay Man Crashes into Fort Mill McDonalds and is Charged with DUI

istock-keys and liquorA man from Tega Cay found himself in quite a lot of  trouble when he lost his temper at a local McDonalds.

According to the police reports, the 20-year-old defendant drove to a McDonalds in Fort Mill around 3:00 a.m. for some late night food, and to his dismay, the restaurant was closed for the night.

Not taking no for an answer, and after consuming alcohol, the Tega Cay resident then drove his vehicle into the “customer order screen” while screaming profanities at employees closing down the restaurant.

The defendant initially drove up to the drive-thru window, where he extended his hand through the window into the employee’s personal space. After a few more profanities, the defendant drove away, circled the building, and then smashed his vehicle into the order screen before subsequently driving away.

The screen did have some damage to it, but more importantly, the camera filming the interaction allowed the employees to find the driver’s tag number, and give it to the police. The Police went in search for the defendant’s car, eventually finding it parked at a local Tega Cay house. The defendant was sitting in the driver’s seat at the time the police spotted him.

Upon questioning, the defendant initially denied the interaction, the admitted he was the one that did the damage to the customer screen, and that he would ” pay for the damage.”

Because the defendant was sitting in the vehicle at the time of arrest, with the keys in the ignition, the police were able to administer Field Sobriety Tests to determine if the defendant was in fact intoxicated at the time of the accident. He subsequently failed the tests, and had a Blood Alcohol Concentrate of 0.13, almost double the legal limit.

He was then charged with Driving Under the Influence, and Malicious Injury to Property. His bond was set for $6,000, which he was able to make and be released later that night.

SC House of Representatives Member Arrested for DUI Twice in a Year

A South Carolina State Representative has been arrested for a DUI charge not quite a year after a previous charge of DUI was issued to him.  The man was arrested onBlog- Handcuffs and Suit the grounds of the South Carolina State House, according to police reports.  Further, it was reported that the man was brought into jail around 1:00 a.m.  He was picked up earlier in the night when officers saw him stumbling around the House grounds, and thereafter they followed him to his car, which was parked in the state House garage.  When the man began to drive, he couldn’t drive a straight line and struck a cone while in the garage. When the officer approached the car, the man allegedly smelled of alcohol; and, when he was asked to perform field sobriety tests, he is reported to have declined to comply.

This is not the first time the Representative has been in hot water with regards to driving under the influence of alcohol.  In May of last year, he was pulled over and arrested for drunk driving, speeding, and illegal possession of a pistol.  Further, a 21-year-old female was in his car at the time of arrest; however, he and the young student stated that he had only met her at a local bar and was “giving her a ride home.”  While the DUI charge was eventually dropped, this did not occur before he was forced to drop out of the Democratic primary in order to spend time with his family, and confer with his pastor.
