Charlotte Police Arrest Armed Robbert Suspect

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has apprehended a suspect they say committed an armed robbery and then locked himself inside a Charlotte apartment complex.

Authorities received a call coming from a parking lot next to a beauty salon at J W Clay Blvd on Tuesday night.  A woman had called police and stated that a

 

man approached her with a gun and demanded money.  After succumbing to the man, the woman began to follow him to the Colonial Grand apartments on Grove Crest Lane.

Rock Hill Man Shot at Door Before Robbery

A Rock Hill man was taken by helicopter to a hospital Tuesday night after two men wearing all black clothing knocked on his door and then shot him, stealing cash in the process.

Authorities responded to a call from 970 Eastwood Drive near Willowbrook Avenue in reference to a gunshots being heard.  When officers arrived, they found the man severely injured with a gunshot wound to his chest.

A woman was in the apartment with the man at the time of the incident with her two children.  After the man was shot, he was able to gain his composure and flee the scene to Princeton Road, where he ran into someone who called authorities.  The two robbers stole $300 from the apartment all while the woman was in the apartment with her two children.  A K-9 unit also found $60 near the apartment.

The woman and the children were not hurt by the suspects.  The man was taken to the Carolina Medical Center and seemed to be responding to questions and answers from authorities questioning him about the incident in the hospital.

NC Man Charged With Armed Robbery of Bojangles

Police with the Cornelius, NC Police Department are charging a man with armed robbery after he pulled a gun on a local fast food restaurant, according to a police report.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday at a Bojangles Restaurant on West Catawba Avenue.  The man entered the store and demanded cash from the register.  He was carrying a large black semi-automatic pistol when he demanded the cash, according to a witness statement.

Rock Hill Homeowner Attacks Repo Man With Shotgun

A man trying to repossess a car barely escaped with his life after a Rock Hill man fired a gun at him for coming onto his property, authorities stated.

The homeowner was arrested a week after the incident occurred.  Authorities with the York County Sheriff’s Office stated that the homeowner ran outside his home with a shotgun when the man was trying to repossess his car.  The homeowner warned the man twice to get off his property before discharging the shotgun behind the wrecker.  The homeowner then backed his truck up into the wrecker before speeding away.

One witness told authorities that he saw the incident and heard the gunshot and the homeowner threaten the repo man.  The homeowner’s wife said she heard her husband arguing with somebody but did not hear the gun discharge.  The man has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful presentment of a firearm and unsafe discharge of a firearm.

Man Robs ATM in Charlotte’s South Park Neighborhood

The FBI Charlotte Division and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are charging a subject with armed robbery when the man robbed and shot a Loomis employee outside an ATM on Fairview Road in the Foxcroft Shopping Center in Charlotte on January 23, 2012.ATM-Armed-Robbery-Charlotte

Witnesses describe the robber 20-25 years old with a small build. The robber was heavily disguised wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black t-shirt, grey sweatpants, black Nike shoes with a white emblem, and a baseball cap with a silver sticker on the brim, according to a news release from the FBI.  The crime is currently the “featured bank robber” on the FBI’s new bank robber website.  The case will be also highlighted on the FBI’s Facebook, YouTube and several Bureau authorized twitter accounts.

York Man Charged with Weapon and Drug Possession

A York man with convictions dating back to 1998 that prevent him from having a weapon was arrested Friday by deputies on drug and weapons charges, according to jail records.

The man was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana, jail records showed Saturday. The man’s criminal record according to State Law Enforcement Division records includes conviction for assault, domestic violence, and escape from prison.

The York County Clerk of Court public index shows an attempted murder charge against the man was dismissed in December due to insufficient evidence to prosecute him on the charge.
