A man from Union County was killed after the Four-wheeler he was riding on collided with a deer on a rural back road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol the victim of the accident was only 38-years-old at the time of injury. He was on a dirt road near his home, when a deer sprung out from the woods and ran straight into his All Terrain Vehicle.
The troopers sadly reported that the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was moreover thrown off the four-wheeler, causing serious and life-threatening injuries.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead after just a few short hours.
Four-wheelers can be extremely dangerous vehicle, especially when someone is not wearing a helmet. In fact, pursuant to state law, a person must be the age of 16 or older, and have a current driver’s license in order to operate one of these vehicles.

A mother from Spartanburg, South Carolina has recently been sentenced to 13 years in prison for an accident that occurred earlier last year involving the death of her daughter.
According to the reports, the 27-year-old mother was driving her 7 year-old daughter in her Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on Interstate 85 back in August of 2012, when she crashed her car after “running from the cops.”
Her speed was reported as “extremely reckless at the time of incident,” which is why the police officers that noticed her driving attempted to pull the mother over. The mother/defendant saw the police officer’s lights; she heard the sirens; yet she still decided to refuse to pull over for the deputies.
This is what ultimately resulted in the police and mother ensuing in a high speed chase while her child in was still in the vehicle. Apparently this mother was drastically trying to avoid an arrest by the officers.
During the chase, the mother’s SUV somehow lost traction, and ended up sliding across several lanes of traffic before striking a median and flipping her vehicle multiple times. Upon impact, both the 7-year-old daughter and a bag of marijuana were thrown from the vehicle. The daughter suffered life-threatening injuries due to the accident.
When the officers and rescue crew arrived on scene, the child was transported via helicopter to the hospital, where she ultimately passed away due to the severity of the injury.
Subsequently, the mother pled guilty to the charges filed agaisnt her, and has been sentenced to 13 years of jail time. Specifically, she was charged with reckless homicide and child neglect.

A Chester mother is escaping charges against her for accidentally running over her 1-year-old daughter Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police reports, the 23-year-old mother was at home, working on her 1999 Dodge Durango at the time of incident. She reportedly had the hood up, and was attempting to drive the vehicle from one side of her house to the other.
She stated she was trying to maneuver the car to where a garden hose could reach the hood to clean out the grease and debris.
While driving, the mother left the hood up, blocking her line of sight, and continued to drive until she heard the neighbors screaming loading. It was at that point that she realized that she was backing over her 1-year-old daughter and immediately stopped her vehicle.
The little girl was rushed to Chester Hosptial, the closest hospital in the vicinity, where she suffered minor injuries. Specifically, he right arm was broken and there were some minor scrapes and burns to her stomach and chest.
From Chester Hospital, the girl was later flown via helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center for further treatment.
As of this point, the mother is not being charged with any crime due to the accidental nature of the incident, and the non-life threatening injuries the daughter suffered.

Interstate 77 was full of accidents over this past weekend due to some heavy rainfall. It is always dangerous to drive fast or recklessly, especially during inclement weather.
One individual learned this the hard way, when a fatal accident on Interstate 77 forced the North Carolina Highway Department of Transportation( NCDOT) to shut down the four-laned highway completely for almost two full hours.
The location of the accident was near exit 17, Sunset Road, a mere 5 exits away from Interstate 85 around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night.
Not too many details of the accident have been released yet, but everyone is diligently working together to discover the source of the car accident. As of right now, all that is known is that there was a serious car accident where at least one person was killed on impact.
Firefighters and police officers rushed onto the scene; but were unable to revive the driver of the car that crashed.
It can be assumed that the weather attributed to the damage, as with the rain and fog, distances seem to blur between you and the next vehicle. It is always prudent to keep a safe distance while travelling in the rain, snow, or sleet; and to drive the speed limit or less if there is water on the roadways.

A 26-year-old man from North Carolina lost his life this morning when he was driving in Lancaster County.
According to the reports, the man was on Camp Creek Road in Lancaster at the time of the incident.
The emergency call came in around 6:00 a.m., when the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department responded to the telephone call.
When the police arrived on the scene, they found a Pick-Up Truck in the middle of the country road, and a small car pushed off to the side of the road. The driver of the car, the 26-year-old victim, was ejected from his vehicle upon impact of the collision.
According to officials, his death was instant on impact. The man who was driving the truck, aged 24, was taken to the hospital via ambulance, and only suffered minor injuries.
Highway officials have reported that they are still diligently working on the cause of the accident.

A 76-year-old man from Blacksburg SC has been found dead in his yard, underneath his lawn tractor.
Construction equipment can be extremely dangerous to work on or operate for that matter. Witnesses stated however, that this particular gentleman had almost 4 decades of experience with equipment, and are still in shock over his accidental passing.
The Cherokee County Coroner has reported that the victim’s body was found underneath the tractor. It appeared as though the man had been attempting to remove the blade from the tractor hen the hoist holding up the weight of the tractor collapsed, and the tractor toppled over.
The man suffocated while he was pinned to the ground by the extremely heavy equipment.
The body was first found by a family member, hours after the man had passed away.
The death has officially been ruled an accident.
