A crash involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles left a woman dead and her husband injured in east Charlotte late Saturday night.
The crash happened around 9:51 p.m. on East Independence Boulevard when the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle approached slowing traffic due to road maintenance on the left hand shoulder of the road.
The driver of the motorcycle, attempting to avoid a crash, applied his brakes, started to skid and crashed into the back of a Pontiac Grand Am that was stopped in the middle lane.
The passenger on the bike, the driver’s wife, was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact.
The motorcycle then crashed into the back of a Ford Windstar in the left lane.
Both the driver of the motorcycle and his wife passenger were transported to Carolinas Medical Center Main; however, she did not survive her injuries from the crash.
No one else involved in the crash was injured.
