South Charlotte Crash Involves CMPD Cruiser

An accident involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer caused delays on a busy south Charlotte road Friday morning.

The crash happened on Providence Road at Pineville-Matthews road.  A CMPD cruiser was involved in the messy crash.

Crews worked to clear the scene of the accident while traffic backed up along the nearby roadways.

Details are still forthcoming on the seriousness of the injuries caused by crash.

Victim Struck and Killed in Evening Crash

State troopers shut down all westbound lanes of Interstate 40 after a person was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday.

Police and medics received alerts from the accident at around 7:30 p.m.   All lanes were closed until around 11 p.m.

Officials are continuing an investigation into the tragic occurrence.

Fatal Single Car Crash Kills Two in Charlotte

Two people are dead after a car veered off the road and crashed on Bellhaven Boulevard early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. when a man driving a green BMW veered off the road, caught fire, and collided into some trees.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police were the first to arrive on the scene of the fiery crash.  Two officers attempted to free the driver from the car just as Fire Department officials arrived.

Both a 29-year-old man and a 36 year-old man were killed in the crash.  A passenger was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Grandmother and Her Daughter Killed In Charlotte Crash

A tragic two-car crash has left a grandmother and her daughter dead late Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at Independence Boulevard and Matthews Township Parkway near the Matthews Festival Shopping Center.

According to authorities, a Honda CRV and a Chevrolet Trailblazer collided when a woman driving the CRV attempted to turn left onto Independence Boulevard and was struck by the Trailblazer traveling northbound on Matthews Township Parkway.

A 62-year-old woman and her 37-year-old daughter were both killed in the crash.  The younger woman’s two children were also injured in the wreck, but are expected to survive.

The 28-year-old driver of the Trailblazer is charged with DWI and reckless driving in the crash.  He remains in the hospital with injuries.

School Bus Wreck Injures Three in Charlotte

Three people were injured after a school bus wreck in northeast Charlotte Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. on University City Boulevard near Interstate 85 south.

The Morehead Stem Academy bus was carrying 31 students at the timd of the crash. Three people were taken to CMC University with minor injuries.

Luckily, none of the students on board the bus were injured. There is still no word on the cause of the accident or possible charges.

Driver Faces Charges After Fatal Drunk Driving Crash

A North Carolina driver is facing charges after being involved in a fatal crash in Salisbury Sunday morning.

According to North Carolina State Troopers, the driver was speeding and driving drunk when the crash happened on Sunday on Goodnight Road.

A 14-year-old boy was killed in the crash.

The suspect is currently in jail under a $1 million bond.
