According to Bumbo.com, Bumbo baby seats are being ” voluntarily” recalled after one parent demonstrated how the seats are dangerous, as her child was able to wiggle out of the seat and fall to the floor, without ever unlatching any of the Bumbo buckles.
USA Today reports that there has been around 4 million Bumbo seats included in this recall, after 84 accidents, 20 of them resulting in skull fractures, finally awoke the makers of the baby seats.
What is strange, is that the Bumbo makers are simply sending each parent who participated in the recall a ” repair kit” that includes an additional safety belt and instructions on how to properly install it.
Bumbo invites everyone to see if the seat that they own has been one placed on recall by visiting www.bumbo.com, and following the instructions listed on their website.

In yet another recall notice, General Motors and Isuzu are sending out notice for more than 258,000 SUVs in the U.S. and Canada to fix short-circuits in power-window and door-lock switches that can cause fires. This recall affects the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 97-X SUVs from the 2006 and 2007 model years. These SUVs were sold or registered in 20 northern U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Canada, where salt and other chemicals are used to clear roads in the winter. GM has reports of 28 fires but claims to not know of any injuries. The problem is caused by fluid containing the road-clearing chemicals which can get inside the driver’s door and cause corrosion in the power-window and door-switch circuit boards. The subsequent corrosion can cause short-circuits which can then cause a fire.

Prescription drug Pradaxa (dabigatran etexilate mesylate), a blood thinner, was introduced in the US a couple years ago. Used in treatment of atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heart rhythm, the drug reduces the risk of blood clots and stroke. However, there is increasing concern of injury from the drug’s dangerous side-effects, viz. serious internal bleeding, and resultant death.
Boehringer Ingelheim, the Pradaxa manufacturer, reports more than 250 deaths as a result of these side-effects since 2010.
Pradaxa is more dangerous for the usual suspects: people older than 75, persons with kidney issues, and persons with stomach ulcers or recurring stomach or intestinal bleeding.
FDA safety review of Pradaxa began late last year. The drug has yet to be recalled, and there are no indications that it will be recalled; however, current Pradaxa litigation has been consolidated in a St. Louis federal District Court in a multi-district litigation (MDL) proceeding.
Pharmaceutical companies are legally responsible for harm caused by unsafe drugs. If you have been injured by a defective drug, you have a limited amount of time to seek compensation, so act promptly.
If you have experienced complications from Pradaxa, including internal bleeding, you may have legal rights to claim compensation. Contact the MEDLAW legal team of Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLC, today. We offer a free, no-obligation consultation. An experienced Pradaxa side effects attorney will review your situation and explain your legal rights free of charge.
