A Rock Hill man was arrested after sheriff deputies found a quarter pound of marijuana in his car. This incident occurred on Pageland Highway, according to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Department.
The report states that the 24-year-old man is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and unlawfully carrying a handgun after the police found him speaking to a suspicious woman next to his car.
When the police stopped him, the man attempted to run from the scene, but he was immediately apprehended. Thereafter, the deputies found the marijuana along with a scale and a handgun. He was then placed under arrest and sent to the Lancaster County Detention Center.

Recently there has been a DUI crackdown on Interstate 77, near Rock Hill, SC, has accumulated almost 20 arrests on driving under the influence and more than 70 total traffic citations. Also, a Lancaster County, SC operation on U.S. 521 led to 10 additional arrests on DUI charges.
Of the people arrested, five of them were drug-related, five were for driving under suspension, and nine were illegal alcohol cases. However, the majority of them were for minor traffic violations, such as a broken tail light or an expired registration.
The officers reported that for some of the stops, people had marijuana and open containers in plain sight of the officers. Troopers have stated that they plan on initiating more traffic stops such as this in the late hours of the night.
Finally, the officers set up a mobile breath test unit that tested the driver’s BAC, and if it registered higher than a 0.08, they were brought toYorkCountyDetentionCenter. The ramps were chosen because of the statistics of accidents in the area such as the volume of the traffic, the layout of the ramps, and the crash records in the area.

A York, South Carolina mother has been charged with driving under the influence after she crashed into an oncoming car Wednesday morning. Moreover, the 34-year-old York resident was charged with child endangerment, child restraint violations, seat belt violation, failure to register a vehicle, improperly displaying a license and open container.
She was traveling with her 11-month-old son onWest Old Limestone Road inYork when she veered over the center line of the road and hit a man head on. Both the woman and her son were improperly restrained; the child was without a car-seat. They were flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and are listed in fair condition. The other driver was transported to Piedmont Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Daycare employees and children were startled Tuesday evening after an elderly man crashed into the side of the building in southwest Charlotte.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Gateway Academy daycare center on West Arrowood Road.
According to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police, the male driver lost control of his car while pulling out of the Wal-Mart parking lot and crashed into the daycare.
The man suffered injuries from the crash. Luckily, no children or employees in the daycare were injured.

One person is in critical condition after a two-car crash involving a stolen truck in Matthews early Wednesday morning.
According to Police, the 57-year-old driver was injured after his small white Mazda truck flipped after hitting a F-250 truck on Idlewild Road near Matthews Pineville Road on Wednesday morning around 4:30 a.m.
Emergency crews on the scene had to extricate the man from the truck after being trapped from the crash.
The driver of the second truck had stolen the F-250. After the crash, he jumped from the vehicle and ran from the scene.
The truck was one of several that had been broken into at a Charlotte home. Other stolen property was found in the truck as well.
Police and emergency crews were able to reopen Idlewild Road after clearing the scene around 7:30 a.m.

Two people are suffering from serious injuries after being hit by a car on Monday night.
Paramedics responded to the scene of the collision around 9 p.m. in the 14600 block of Statesville Road.
The two individuals were walking across the road when they were struck by the vehicle. Both were immediately rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police have not yet released the remaining details on the incident.
