More than twenty homes were raided this past July in North and South Carolina as suspected members of the Rock Hill City Nomad Chapter of the Hells Angels were arrested after a two-year federal investigation. Nineteen alleged members were arrested as a result. They were arrested after a 91 count indictment was returned charging Hell’s Angels Associates with racketeering, racketeering conspiracy, narcotics violations, money laundering, and firearms violations.
Arrest and search warrants were issued throughout North and South Carolina where the police uncovered cocaine, marijuana, pills, and roughly 100 firearms. The arrests were carried out by the South Carolina Hells Angels Task Force through efforts to dismantle organized crime, and criminal organizations.

A 19-year-old Rock Hill resident was charged with a DUI in late September for a “hit-and-run” car accident that he was responsible for.
The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Dave Lyle Boulevard. Accordingly, the defendant struck another driver’s 1999 Lexus sedan with his Truck, and then quickly drove away.
The police attempted to speak with the 17-year-old driver of the Lexus, but found the child to be incoherent at the time. The 17-year-old suffered serious head injuries, as well as minor injuries to his leg.
The defendant ran but he could not hide. The Rock Hill police followed gouge marks to a home on Roy Street with a pick up truck in the drive way. The truck was missing its driver’s side tire. The police asked the defendant if he was driving the truck to which the both responded truthfully. He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, according the Rock Hill police report.

Last Friday, a Rock Hill, SC woman was found unconscious in her car at Walmart after she allegedly “huffed” fumes from an aerosol can, as reported by police. A Walmart employee called police and stated that around 5:30 p.m. the woman was passed out in her 2002 silver Pontiac Grand Prix which was still running.
The woman was charged with driving under the influence and unlawful use and possession of aromatic hydrocarbons after the police found a can of Ultra Duster clutched in the her left hand. Officers reported that her eyes were glossy and bloodshot, and her pupils were dilated. The police also found prescription pain pills in her purse as she searched for her driver’s license.
The officers report that they subjected the woman to three field sobriety tests which she allegedly failed. She later admitted to recently leaving a drug rehabilitation facility for air-can use and prescription pain pills.

A resident of Chester County, SC was arrested on Friday after police report that he stole lawnmowers and other yard equipment throughout Chester and York counties. According to police, the man was charged with three counts of grand larceny, and he is being held at the Chester County Detention Center.
Officers were called to a grading company after the owner reported that a lawnmower had been stolen. The surveillance video pictured someone driving a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe, and it matched the description of the same car driven by someone who stole a trailer from a business about a week earlier according to the police report.
The man admitted to stealing the trailer and lawnmower, and York County officials found other stolen items on the man’s property.

A man and his wife were arrested Saturday after a dispute arose because he caught her engaging in sexual activity with her female lover. As a result the man launched an unopened beer can at the “lover,” whereupon the wife poked her husband in the eye.
The man was charged with third-degree assault and battery, and his wife was charged with criminal domestic violence according to York County Sheriff Deputies. The report states that everyone involved had been drinking all day. The wife’s “friend” also corroborated the story by stating that she received a cut on her top lip from the full beer can that was thrown by the husband after he caught them in the bedroom.

A potentially explosive crash happened Monday morning after a tractor-trailer hauling dynamite overturned on Interstate 85.
According to Randolph County EMS, the crash occurred just after 6:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-85 at mile marker 111 near Main Street/U.S. Highway 311 near High Point.
The tractor-trailer was carrying ammonium nitrate slurry and blasting caps.
Crews worked to separate the blasting caps from the ammonium nitrate so that the interstate could be cleared for other drivers.
Traffic was initially diverted from both directions of the interstate to Main Street, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Transportation.
The sensitive nature of the situation prompted DOT officials to recommend evacuation of homes and buildings within ½ mile of the intersection of Archdale Road and I-85. A local elementary school was evacuated upon requests from authorities.
As of 11 a.m. the elements contained in the truck were stable and all ignition sources were eliminated.
