There is a current investigation going on for the North Carolina Highway Patrol where a single-vehicle accident has critically inured one of their officers.
According to the police report, the officer was off-duty when his motorcycle wrecked on Sunday evening, around 10:15 p.m. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
The officer was subsequently rushed to Gaston Memorial Hospital, where he has remained in critical condition in the surgical intensive unit since then. Moreover, there are reports that the officer may have obtained serious head injuries; it is too early to tell.
It remains apparent that motorcycles carry with them more danger than your average car. A crash that occurred on Saturday afternoon between a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a car left a woman with a severe leg injury.
According to Highway Patrol Troopers on the scene, the accident happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. when both vehicles were traveling westbound toward Asheville on U.S. 74A where the road intersects with Interstate 40.
The driver of the car said that the motorcyclist pulled out in front of her and that she “had nowhere to go.” The motorcyclist was attempting a U-turn when she was struck by the right front side of the car.
According to the passenger of the car, the woman’s leg was completely severed as a result of the crash.
The woman motorcyclist was taken to Mission Hospital. Police could not confirm that the woman’s leg was severed, but did comment that the amount of blood and tissue on the road did give indications of a substantial injury.

A 33-year-old Berkeley resident was killed last Sunday night in a horrible motorcycle accident involving another vehicle.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner’s report, the accident occurred near Highway 17A, right across from Mountain Pine Road. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department says that a jeep was making a left turn, when the motorcycle crashed into the vehicle. The victim was apparently not wearing a helmet, which added to the impact during the collision. The driver of the Jeep, however, was reported to have no injuries.
Currently, the case has been handed over to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, where they are investigating this deadly crash.

A 69-year old man passed away after a motorcycle accident that occurred last Saturday in West Rock Hill. Wednesday, the victim was pronounced dead at the Lehigh County Hospital, after fighting for his life for four days. The Lehigh County First Deputy Coroner has reported that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Accordingly, the report reads that the victim was literally ejected from his seat, after he lost control of the motorcycle around mile marker 25.2 on Route 309. The accident currently still under investigation.

A resident from Lancaster County, South Carolina, passed away last month due to a motorcycle accident that had occurred earlier in the month. The victim clung onto life for about a week, before she finally perished.
According to the reports, the motorcycle accident occurred on S.C. 5, around 4:45 p.m. The victim was riding a 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle westward on S.C. 5, about 12 miles north of the Lancaster county line. The collision occurred when a vehicle traveling east on S.C.5 turned left onto Steel Hill Road, and immediately collided with the victim’s motorcycle. Subsequently, the victim was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte.

Abraham Turner, the director of the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce has been the center of the media’s headlines since the scandal’s began in 2011, when Nikki Haley appointed Turner to the force as General. However recently, the headlines have changes, as Turner was involved in a motorcycle crash that has the news talking about something different…for once!
What is strange about this particular incident is that the facts are still being whittled away. It is unclear when the accident occurred, if any other people or vehicles were involved in the accident, and if Turner himself was responsible or not.
The details are still unclear, and not surprisingly, the agency has decided ” not to comment” at this time. All we know is from an email by SCDEW Chief of Staff that states ““General Turner was wearing a helmet and personal protective equipment therefore (sic) his injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening,” and that “the important thing he needs now is time to rest and heal.”
Turner has reported to only have minor injuries, but as for the rest, it is still a motorcycle mystery.
