Father Aids Son’s Fighting –SC Criminal Defense Attorneys

A 44-year-old SC father admits to encouraging his son to fight a fellow teenager, when he took his 14-year-old son to a church parking lot to settle a fight with a 13-year-old boy this past Monday. The conflict began on Facebook and escalated into violence when the two boys met for a face-off at the United Pentecostal Church in Rock Hill, SC.

The 13-year-old’s mother was apparently there watching; however, she maintains that she did not bring her son to fight, but drove to the parking lot on her own volition, after hearing her son had come to the Church to fight. As the altercation became more intense, the father of the 14-year-old got out of his truck, and began waving a gun in the air.  The man claims that he was then attacked by the 13-year-old boy, along with a group of other teens that had been watching the fight. The man then got back in his truck, rammed into the car of the 13-year-old boy’s mother, and sped away.

The man was subsequently arrested, and charged with injury to property. The 13-year-old was also charged with hitting the man’s truck with a crutch.

Police Car Chase Ends With Crash–SC Accident Attorneys

A police chase ensued Wednesday afternoon after three enforcemenet agencies joined together to chased the unnamed individual. The chase ended with a collission in Columbia Park that afternoon.

The facts surrounding the case are as follows: an officer patrolling a neighborhood in connection with a pattern of recent car break-ins, attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee when the suspect sped away.  It was during the chase that the suspect sideswiped another vehicle near Ginny Lane and US 378.

The car that was hit during the crash was damaged, but fortunately, no one was in the car at the time of the collision.  After crashing into the car, the suspect took off.

Police car chases are becoming more common and, with increasing speeds and recklessness, more dangerous to the public. Many police departments have adopted new rules for when their officers are permitted to continue chase and when they must break off pursuit. The risks of causing accidents like the one in this case are too great. In this instance, the car was simply parked. But who knows what could have happened if a family had been sitting in the vehicle.

Officers Use Stun Gun on Irate Woman After Crash–Rock Hill Criminal Defense Attorneys

Police were forced to use a stun gun on an irate Rock Hill woman last Tuesday. The report states that the Rock Hill woman was grabbing at the officers and attempting to kick another person after her car was involved in a collision on Eden Terrace.

Officers were simply responding to a call in connection to a crash, when they found the 36-year-old woman walking toward the wrecked vehicles.  She was visibly irate and began shouting profanities at the officers as they approached the scene of the crash.  The officers told the woman that if she did not stop using profanities in public that she would be arrested, but their warnings were unavailing.  As she continued shouting profanities, officers placed the woman under arrest.  At that moment she grabbed one officer’s lapel and began to struggle.

The woman also attempted to kick one of the other victims of the crash during the struggle.  Police used a stun gun on the woman’s right side and placed her in handcuffs.  She was treated at Piedmont Medical Center before being taken into custody at the Rock Hill jail.

According to the Rock Hill Police report, the woman was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, public disorderly conduct and damage to city property.

Boat Catches Fire on Lake Wylie With Family Aboard–SC NC Boating Accident Attorneys

A boat caught fire in the early afternoon of Sept. 1 on Lake Wylie soon after the boat had been put on the water for a Labor Day cruise.Tega Cay Fire Department, one of several agencies responding to the fire, used its fire boat to extinguish the fire.  A family was aboard, but luckily, all made it off of the boat safely.

The incident occurred about 30 feet off shore near Lake Club Marina and Ebenezer Park. Often times, boating accidents are due to high levels of intoxication in conjunction with driving a boat. Especially for boaters on Lake Wylie, the reports typically read that there was some sort of collision or disruption due to intoxication. People tend to forget that the same rules apply whether you are driving a boat, car, or any other motor vehicle; you may not be intoxicated as you operate.

However, in the case at hand, the situation is unique, as no one was appears to be at fault for the boat catching aflame.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the authorities are working diligently to investigate.
